  • Start Reading! I personally love to read, but if you do not then try to find recordings of literature, most libraries have a whole section for recordings of books. Due to the fact that a lady is a well rounded individual i strongly suggest that you read or (listen to) the works of Charles Dickens, Jane Austen, Dante Alighieri, Walt Whitman, Robert Frost, Edgar Allen Poe, Jules Verne, William Shakespeare and other poets and writers. Do not however limit yourself to the classics, read what interests you and not just what I or anybody else says to read.

Reassess your wardrobe. A Lady is known to be neat in her appearance and manner, so keep your clothes clean. Make sure that your clothing flatters you. No lady is ever seen in something too short, baggy or tight. Also your wardrobe should be as versatile as an actress'. You should have outfits for formal events as well as casual (and no being a lady does not mean having to wear a skirt all the time.) A Lady should also have a modern wardrobe, this does not mean you have to buy every new fashion as soon as it hits the shelves but it does mean you need to get rid of all those outfits you have left over from the 80's.

Be Clean. Shower daily, its not only ladylike but also hygienic. Apply deodorant and/or an antiperspirant everyday. It is also a good idea to start a skin care regime, a facial cleanser, exfoliater and lightweight moisturizer are all you need. Keep makeup light and natural looking, use only enough to accentuate your great features and cover-up the not so great.

Be polite. Don't burp or pass gas in public and if you accidentally do, quickly cover your mouth and say excuse me. When in public do not scream or shout unless it is an emergency such as a thief, a fire or a kidnapping attempt. Be courteous to others and when first being introduced shake his or hand firmly, state your name and inquire after his or her health. Do not curse, become drunk or act inappropriately in public. Also keep good posture, walking tall gives you an air of confidence. This is not that it takes to be polite but I cannot explain all the details in one article so I suggest that you read some books on etiquette to get a better idea of how people act in polite society.

Respect yourself and others. Listen to new ideas and others' points of view even if you don't agree with them. Don't try to force your beliefs on anyone. Don't look down on anyone, put yourself in their position and try to be compassionate and sympathetic.

  • Things You'll Need:

    • A Library Card (A lady is well rounded and borrowing literature is easier than having to buy it. Unless you wish to have a home library, if so be my guest.)
    • A Newspaper Subscription ( To keep abreast of current events. I recommend subscribing to both a local and international newspaper, that way you can speak intelligently with others on issues that effec
    • An iron ( A lady's clothes are neat and wrinkle free.)
    • Respect (For yourself and others, one of the most important things that a lady possesses is the respect she has for everyone.)
    • A Positive Attitude ( Ladies are known to be optimistic even in times of trouble or despair.)
    • Gym Membership (This is optional. A Lady is judged more by her attitude than her physique, and lady feels great about herself no matter what her shape but I myself prefer the feeling of power and the
